Shonen Authors Comment on Jujutsu Kaisen’s Ending
Jujutsu Kaisen’s ending has garnered many reactions from fans, ranging from disappointment over the seemingly rushed pacing to satisfaction over concluding its major plot beats.
The author’s comment blog shows every author congratulating Gege Akutami and feeling bittersweet over the end of Jujutsu Kaisen after six and a half years in Weekly Shonen Jump.

To highlight, some authors have mentioned their favorite Jujutsu Kaisen characters motivating their work, such as Kagurabachi author Takeru Hokazono, who expresses how Aoi Todo inspires him and with Jujutsu Kaisen ending, his weekly pleasures are disappearing one by one.

Mission: Yozakura Family author Hitsuji Gondaira remarked that he wanted to know “the smell the inside of Jogo’s earplugs. Probably a sweet fragrance of earth like bizen pottery.”

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi’s author Shoichi Usui comments on how he is emotionally affected by the words “Domain Expansion.”
The Elusive Samurai’s author Yusei Matsui is looking forward for a new work from Akutami soon.
Akane-banashi author Takamasa Moue notes that he admires “a super-popular manga creator from the same Digimon generation”, indicating how close they are in age.
On his own end, Gege Akutami comments:
“We’ve reached the end!! Thank you all for your support!! I’ll keep doing my best in my future works!!”
The final chapter was released on September 29, 2024.
Volumes 29 and 30 will be released together on December 25, 2024.
