Beginning on September 22, 2021, Star Wars: Visions is an animated anthology TV series released for Disney+ and produced by Lucasfilm.
Unlike most shows, this anthology consists of original animated short films set in, or inspired by, the Star Wars universe, produced by various studios and thus being self-contained stories that do not affect the overarching story of the Star Wars franchise.
Due to the varied production staff involved and diverse stories being told, different composers handled the music for each episode.
For Volume 1, the composers were Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss), Yoshiaka Dewa (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead and Call of the Night, Keiji Inai (Burn the Witch), Keiichiro Shibuya, U-zhaan, and Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi (Halo, Metal Gear Solid).
For Volume 2, the composers are notable for not being in the anime industry or from Japan, such as Dan Levy (The Passenger, Love, Death & Robots: “The Tall Grass”), Leo Pearson, Andrés Walker and Patricio Portius, Jean-Marc Petsas, Jang Young Gyu and Lee Byung-Hoon, Olivier Derivière, Sneha Khanwalkar, Daniel Lopatin, and Markus Wormstorm.
Season 2 was released on May 4, 2023.
From its 2 seasons, there have been 18 episodes released.
