Aqua’s Plan Succeeds…But At What Cost? Oshi no Ko Chapter 164 Spoilers!
Aqua is finally confirmed dead yet his perfect plan hurts the ones he loves.
In the previous chapter, Aqua looks at his past life as Gorou through Tsukuyomi’s mystical powers but the crow girl tells Aqua that the real him is the Aqua who lived in the present, Aqua Hoshino and Aqua floats along in the sea, drowning to his death.

The current chapter begins when Tsukuyomi seemingly borrows Aqua’s consciousness to bring back into the dream from last chapter even as Aqua is still drowning.
As such, Aqua feels the cold and suffocating sensations of drowning.
He then thinks about B.Komachi singing beautifully, as if he is able to hear the ongoing concert even while he is in the water.
With a smile on his face, Aqua passes away.
This is shown through a double page spread.
Some time has passed and a fishing boat 20 kilometers from the crime scene pulls up a floating body that has been well-preserved thanks to the cold weather.
Aqua’s plan worked as the police and public turned Aqua’s death into a major news story.
However, while this exposed his father Hikaru Kamiki’s crimes, the news also breaks the hearts of his loved ones.
In one panel, we see Kana’s eyes turn completely black while Akane strolls by the seashore, holding out flowers dedicated to Aqua.
Akane was the only one to see through the strategy and somewhat admired how intricate yet bold a move it was.
In her monologue, Akane remarks that she believed Aqua would come out of this plan alive as it seemed like he had hope for the future and expressed that she could have helped him set up the perfect crime, once again reinforcing Akane’s immense love for Aqua.
