BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, we witnessed Noel Noa’s strategy at play, using both Isagi and Kaiser as stepping stones in his own growth, much to the anger of the younger players.

Chapter 279 is titled “Football Junkies”

This chapter has 20 pages.

Narration says: “Kaiser’s eyes fixed on the decisive shot! The future is determined in this tense moment!”

The chapter begins as the announcer declares that this is Bastard Munchen’s free kick opportunity and Michael Kaiser steps forward as the kicker.

Kaiser talks to Noa, telling him that he knew that Noa joined only to make Kaiser evolve and to guide Isagi to stimulate Kaiser.

Because of how he uses others to improve himself, Kaiser calls him a terrible coach and wonders if this is what the best do but Noa says that the “world’s best” is just a trophy created by inferiors.

Noa is simply his own man who wants to perfect the art of the striker and being number one is incidental and not important to him.

He sounds like a sports version of Ryomen Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen.

However, Noa does see Julian Loki as a threat to his strength.

Noa tempts Kaiser to catch up to the two geniuses after Noa concludes his bout with Loki, which annoys Kaiser as it also seemingly devalues his skill.

However, Kaiser acknowledges that Noa’s protagonist complex is the reason for his talent.

Meanwhile Isagi looks for a way to steal Noa’s spotlight, either by pushing in the rebound of his shot, or change the trajectory of the shot to score.

Isagi tries to read Noa’s next move after Kaiser makes the free pass.

Kaiser refuses to be part of Noa’s storyline and be his own protagonist but still feels like his empty self that wantss to hurt others and seek love.

Kaiser prepares the kick and Isagi watches in anticipation for when Noa makes his move after, the left or right corner.

Kaiser makes the kick, his Kaiser Impact Magnus, which does seem like a kick to the left corner but moves midair towards the very edge of the right corner in order to score that free goal.

However, Loki runs towards the Kaiser Impact Magnus and catches it in lightspeed, stopping Kaiser from gaining his spotlight.

Isagi is surprised by Loki’s inhuman speed and Loki remarks that the “Kaiser Impact” is far too slow for him.

What a statement from Loki, the fastest player on the field.

Narration: “Loki’s godspeed slaughters the emperor’s strike! God’s speed negates everything!”

Chapter 280 will be titled “The Prodigy’s wall” and will be released on October 22, 2024.
