Boruto JUST Confirmed Jura is The TEN TAILS ITSELF! Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 Spoilers
Jura being the Ten Tails itself could mean a lot of trouble since he is destined to kill Boruto and end the world.
In the previous Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter, Boruto falls ot Jura but is saved by Himawari and Sarada. Boruto recalls how he met Kashin Koji for the first time and how the former Kara member acquired the shinjutsu, Ten Directions, which helped Boruto accelerate his growth in skill and power.
The cover page is of Kashin Koji with film reels at the back, representing his Ten Directions ability.
The last time Koji became a cover page character was in Chapter 46 in the fight against Isshiki. Koji was also in the color page for Chapters 17 and 23.
From the previous chapter, we learned that Ten Directions foresees many future possibilities and has even been used to accelerate Boruto’s training.
The chapter begins with Boruto tied to a chair as he is in an interrogation room with Ibiki Morino, the head of the Leaf’s intelligence division.
Konohamaru is with them and notices that Boruto has finally woken up.
This is the same room where Naruto and Shikamaru detained Amado when the latter first arrived to negotiate with the Leaf in Chapter 45.
In the original Naruto story, Ibiki was a ruthless spymaster who acted as the proctor for the written test in the Chunin Exams and taught the value of teamwork
Amado’s handcuffs have been designed to constrain chakra flow and prevent the use of techniques.
Boruto asks Konohamaru the state of things, especially if everyone is safe and where the sentient Divine Trees are.
We cut to Sakura talking about Inojin’s swift recovery, which was the first preview of the Boruto chapter.
Ino is there, attending to her son but also likely linked to Boruto just as she was throughout the story.
Then we return to the interrogation, where Konohamaru tells Boruto to start talking, beginning with the group of enemies that appeared in the Leaf.
The elders, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, make their first appearance in the entire Boruto manga series, sitting down and observing the interrogation from a different room.
They only appeared in the anime’s Mitsuki Disappearance Arc, which coincidentally involved an interrogation, this time with Ino reading the minds of unconscious guards that revealed Mitsuki’s departure from the Leaf..
Amado also watches with them.
Shikamaru overhears the interrogation through Ino’s Mind Transmission Jutsu.
Ada watches everything with her Senrigan, commenting that the interrogation has begun.
Daemon teases Kawaki about the possibility of Boruto revealing their secrets, of their positions as Hokage killer and Hokage’s son being switched through Ada’s Omnipotence.
Daemon insinuates that although no one will believe that their positions have been switched, it is easier to prove Boruto innocent of the crime of killing Naruto.
While Ada tells Daemon to stop teasing Kawaki, Kawaki says that there is nothing to worry about as “the fact remains that he is the reason Lord Seventh disappeared”.
This one feels more like a personal statement mixed with the public “truth”, as Kawaki holds Boruto responsible for this terrible fate placed upon both of them, since Boruto is Momoshiki’s Vessel.
However, Kawaki admits that they need Boruto to extract any information on how to stop the sentient Divine Trees.
Konohamaru is shocked to learn about the sentient Divine Trees and how they contain the chakra of those captured by the Trees, including Sasuke and Matsuri.
Boruto warns Konohamaru that he is Matsuri’s target.
Amado insinuates that since the Ten Tails’ goal is to devour Otsutsuki to become a Divine Tree, then the sentient Divine Trees.
Konohamaru lists the Divine Trees’ targets: Sarada (Hidari), Himawari (Jura), and himself (Matsuri) and how devouring them will grant the creatures information.
Boruto finally clarifies what we waited 13 chapters for.
Jura is NOT from any of the victims but is in fact the will of the Ten Tails itself and that he has a different plan compared to every other sentient Divine Tree that just wants to eat their desired targets for self-actualization.
The “Ju” in Jura does mean “Ten” and the “ra” in his name means “demons”, as in asura, so in a way we already had our answer from the very start.
It is basically the same as saying Jura is the Ten Tailed Beast or Demon.
Keep in mind that this Ten Tails is not the same one produced from Kaguya’s Divine Tree but instead the one intended for Kara and Isshiki’s plans.
In Chapter 72 of the original Boruto manga, Code divided this Ten Tails into Claw Crimes, beings that resemble Isshiki but with a Frieza-like body.
The Claw Grimes were spread out in Code’s attacks, biting anyone with chakra and the Claw Grimes themselves turning into trees that fuse with their victims.
However, an unexpected development was that they acquired sentience after absorbing chakra from their human victims.
The original Ten Tails maintained its individuality as a Claw Grime that evolved into the being known as Jura.
As to how Jura’s evolution came about, it is still unknown.
We might find out about it in the future or not but Jura is a distinct being from his fellow Divine Trees, Matsuri, Hidari, Bug’s Divine Tree, and the new one that is about to be born in this chapter.
Jura is quite important as last chapter, we learned that in every future, he will be the one to kill Boruto and end the world.
Boruto insists that defeating them will end the threat but Konohamaru is skeptical of how Boruto acquired that information.
However, Boruto refuses to disclose the source of his information: Kashin Koji, as that would compromise his mission to stop the sentient Divine Trees.
Konohamaru is still in disbelief while Homura insists that Boruto, a rebel of the Leaf, cannot alter the Leaf’s path.
Hmm, someone must be missing the Danzo way of running things.
Koharu asks a different question: why did Boruto kill Naruto?
Shikamaru reminds Boruto to keep his composure and not expose Kawaki yet but Boruto does not mind the suffering as he intended to bear this suffering from the beginning.
So Boruto refuses to speak any further as he has told no lie.
The elders are upset with Boruto’s impertinence while Ibiki is seemingly impressed with Boruto’s guts, preparing to deliver his interrogation approach onto the young man.
Shikamaru asks Ino about Inojin’s situation and to link him up to Boruto.
Ino reminds him that it is against regulations but Shikamaru insists that this is a top-secret mission only she can carry out.
Ino does not understand why Shikamaru trusts Boruto and Shikamaru tries to appeal to her emotions, speaking as a friend and not as the Hokage.
Ino tells Shikamaru to cool his head and refuses to continue helping him.
Back to the interrogation, Ibiki suggests that if the Seventh Hokage is safe, Boruto should divulge Naruto’s location, otherwise face a shameful death as a traitor who murdered the Hokage.
Ibiki pins Boruto’s head down, then lifts it up roughly, telling Boruto that he has been itching to punch him for the past three years.
Boruto fires back by saying that he pities Ibiki for being bored.
Ibiki suddenly punches Boruto in the stomach, telling him if he can keep up the resolve.
Shikamaru tells Konohamaru to call Mitsuki but Konohamaru worries that Mitsuki will kill Boruto.
Shikamaru says he will take responsibility.
Eida and Daemon are surprised that Boruto refuses to out Kawaki.
Mitsuki arrives and Shikamaru opens the door for him, with Shikamaru reminding Mitsuki that as shinobi, they must fulfill their mission and not let emotions get in the way.
That is advice usually reserved for a younger Naruto.
Konohamaru reminds Mitsuki that Boruto is an important witness and is not to be killed.
Boruto seemingly insults Mitsuki, asking him if he is still stupid enough to look for his “Sun”, which is more than enough to rile Mitsuki to activate Sage Mode and begin choking Boruto.
Konohamaru and Ibiki try to stop him.
While doing this, Mitsuki brings in a snake to unlock Boruto’s shackles while whispering to Boruto about some important information.
Eventually, Ibiki manages to separate Mitsuki from Boruto.
As Boruto makes a hand sign, he tells Konohamaru and the rest that he has no intention to make enemies out of them but to provide any relevant information and vanishes with the Flying Thunder God Jutsu.
Boruto heads for the room where the Leaf kept him belongings.
Boruto knocks the guards out, telling them it is not their fault and retrieves his his cloak and sword, before vanishing again.
As Mitsuki apologizes for what happened, Koharu warns Shikamaru that this will not look good for him as the Feudal Lord of the Land of Fire will be furious with this situation.
In the Hokage office, Sarada and Sumire come in as they ask Shikamaru about Boruto and Shikamaru informs them that Boruto has escaped.
The Sensory Unit inform Shikamaru via Mind Transmission Jutsu that there is a message from Kankuro of the Hidden Sand Village and Shikamaru tells them to connect him to Kankuro directly.
There are a lot of first appearances into the entire Boruto manga now, and this is Kankuro’s full appearance in the manga.
Kankuro informs Shikamaru about Gaara being defeated alongside his adopted son Shinki.
Kankuro confirms that Shinki has symptoms similar to other victims of the Divine Trees and asks Shikamaru if the Leaf could lend their strength.
The chapter ends with the sentient Divine Trees observing the awakening of their new comrade, the God Tree that has the chakra of Shinki that they name Ryu.
As this early sneak peek notes, the name Ryu means “particle” or “grain”, referring to a grand of sand or iron in Shinki’s case.
This chapter has provided us two key pieces of information:
First, the leader, Jura, is the Ten Tails itself and it seeks Naruto and, much later, Himawari because she is the new jinchuriki of Kurama the Nine Tails.
This adds more questions into whether or not this sentience was something that existed long before becoming an individual Divine Tree or developed over time.
Boruto does mention that Jura has different plans, even if his pursuit of self-actualization mirrors everyone else’s.
Jura seems curious about the world and human life, rather than completely looking down on it, which makes him a unique main villain for the Naruto franchise as we are going to see him develop a goal and worldview unlike any other.
I am somewhat hoping for an attempt at Hunter x Hunter’s Chimera Ant arc in terms of writing its villains becoming human, both for better and worse.
Hidari is a Sasuke without his past ties or our attachments to the character, so as a blank Sasuke, what will his path be after the first attempt to consume Sasuke’s daughter?
We also do not know who Bug’s Divine Tree wants to eat.
Maybe Ada or Daemon or possibly Code?
Second, the Sand Village has also been affected by the Claw Grimes.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex feels like the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, with the Leaf Village as the last bastion of humanity left or that would be the feeling if we see more of the world outside the Leaf.
So far, Boruto’s Return Arc has been mostly centered on the Leaf and we have not left it yet.
We do not have a full picture of the outside situation but perhaps that could be the twist, whether as something that has happened as soon as Boruto arrived or is gradually taking place while we readers have been distracted by the developments in the Leaf Village.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 15 will be released on October 19, 2024.
