Shinki is the New God Tree! Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 Preview 2 Spoilers
Gaara will definitely get some focus in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series, being the likely target for the new God Tree.

This 2nd sneak peek shows the newly completed sentient God Tree that we saw from Kashin Koji’s vision and the one being born at the end of Chapter 13 and as predicted by most fans, it is Shinki, minus the spiky hair.

His hair actually more resembles Naruto’s post-timeskip haircut.
Based on the translation of the page, the name of this character is Ryu but it is written as (粒 : リュウ), which refers to a “particle”, whether a particle of sand or a particle of iron.
Shinki was barely given any spotlight in the original Boruto manga outside of being Boruto’s opponent in the Chunin Exams.
His background is somewhat expanded in the anime, where he is an ally against Urashiki Otsutsuki during the One-Tail Escort Arc (Episodes 120-126).
Shinki even works together with Boruto to fight Urashiki, showing off more of Shinki’s Iron Sand manipulation, an application of Magnet Style most famously used by the late Third Kazekage during Naruto Shippuden.
A child without the ability to control his power over iron sand, Shinki was discovered by Gaara and was adopted as his son, which acts as a slight precursor to Naruto adopting a similarly troubled child like Kawaki.
Just like Naruto, his adopted son would come to cause him trouble in a different way as, like every God Tree origin, Shinki was captured by Code’s Claw Grimes and made into trees that suck out chakra.
Another matchup we might see will be between Ryu and Mitsuki, considering that the original Shinki had foguth Mitsuki during the Chunin Exams but Mitsuki forfeited the match, leaving their duel unresolved.
