Sarada Uchiha’s Ohirume, the UNTOUCHABLE Mangekyo Sharingan Power! Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 21 Full Spoilers
Could Sarada’s connection to the sun mean that her powers will be the key to saving the world from the Ten Tails?

In the previous Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter, we witnessed the reawakening of Sarada Uchiha’s Mangekyo Sharingan after 3 years!
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 21 is titled, “Mangekyo Sharingan”.
This chapter has 38 pages, including the cover page.
The cover features Sarada Uchiha with her Mangekyo Sharingan activated while on a red background and above her head is the vortex, with black shapes, likely Ryu’s Iron Sand, being sucked into the portal.
The caption reads as follows:Â “In the land of despair, the apparition rises.”
Editor’s note: “Countless memories resurface. Among them was a girl who dreamed of becoming Hokage, running with all her heart… “
The chapter begins with a flashback of Boruto Part 1, where Sarada thinks about her dream of becoming a Hokage like Naruto and how she is always locked in on that goal.
She thinks of Chocho and how carefree she is.
Sarada also thinks about Boruto’s dream of protecting and supporting her when she becomes Hokage, to be like her father Sasuke, the Supporting Kage.
She also recalls Sumire’s words about her feelings about Boruto and seemingly transitions neatly to Naruto’s words from the Gaiden, where he says that as Hokage, he treats everyone as family.
If you put the two recent memories together, you see where Sarada was caught lacking.
On the one hand, she respected Naruto’s love for the entire village and that focus to protect everyone.
However, this also made her less considerate with the feelings of individuals, such as how she was with Boruto.
When Sarada defended Boruto from Kawaki, the latter asked her how far would he go for her.
Sarada also recalls Shikamaru and Mitsuki’s initial threats towards Boruto, being the one responsible for supposedly killing the Seventh Hokage.
She also recalled Sumire’s observation of how everyone in the Leaf wanted to go after Kawaki for Naruto’s disappearance and then suddenly shifting to Boruto, which made Sarada upset, wondering why bad things always happen to Boruto.
Then we cut to a flashback of Boruto learning about the Mangekyo Sharingan from Sasuke, with page 8 being from the first sneak peek.
Sasuke talks about how the Mangekyo Sharingan awakens from emotional trauma but Sarada has yet to be aware of this power, so he wonders what ability would come from a self that is struggling and unaware.
We return to the present after 8 pages of flashbacks as Sarada stares at the vortex she formed, much to the surprise of both Mitsuki and Ryu.
Ryu attacks Sarada with Iron Sand but she seems invincible as the Iron Sand gets sucked up just like the chapter cover.
Sarada tells Mitsuki to take care of Araya and Yodo.
With Page 13 as the second sneak peek released on April 18, we see Sarada finally notice her ability.
Ryu sees that the black sphere is what draws his Iron Sand in, so he concludes that he will be fine if he moves straightforwardly.
Ryu attempts to dig the Iron Sand down to attack Sarada from behind but is surprised that this too was being absorbed and so he sees from behind him that there were not two but FOUR spheres in total.
Now Ryu was being dragged up by the four vortices, with him and Sarada floating above ground together.
Mitsuki pieces together that Sarada’s new power involves gravity and that it affects the Iron Sand, Ryu and even Sarada herself but not Mitsuki and the others, meaning that Sarada can select which targets are affected by the spheres.
Sarada expresses how she constantly avoided looking inward at her frustrated, powerless self who seems unable to move forward to her goal of becoming the Hokage.
The reason she was inconsiderate towards Sumire and why she was overwhelmed by her feelings for Boruto when they reunited for the first time in three years was because she dismissed her emotions for the sake of her goal.
By denying her feelings and viewing them as mere weaknesses, she also sealed away her hidden power.
In the last chapter, Yodo tells Sarada that it is okay to use her power selfishly and that opened the floodgates, her desire to protect Boruto manifesting the sealed Mangekyo Sharingan.
Ryu is upset at being confined by gravity and at the emotional wreck in front of him.
Suddenly, he is sucked into one of the spheres, which expanded to consume him as Sarada says that, directing to Ryu, if she refuses to accept herself, she will not be able to save anyone.
Jura senses everything that is happening.
Sarada declares that to be Hokage, that is her dream and the first step is to acknowledge herself.
We witnessed one of the most iconic pages in Boruto, with Sarada floating up and the eight black rays of the sun behind her while three portals form similar to the tomoe of a regular Sharingan.
She really has that Satoru Gojo aura, being untouchable, floating above it all like a goddess.
The entire sequence even feels similar to that, as when Gojo was revived in the final fight against Toji Fushiguro, he expressed his own sentiments and his self-acceptance, resulting in the enlightenment that
Oohirume is the power not to create portals like Kamui but rather, the ability to create miniature black holes for the purpose of manipulating gravity itself.
Ryu gets sucked in and the sphere disappears as Sarada’s right eye begin to bleed.
This means the ability is from her right eye.
The Bride of the Sun – Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan
Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan ability is called “Oohirume”, which translates to “great woman of the sun”, the title of the goddess Amaterasu, the central deity of Shintoism and Japan.
Amaterasu is also the name of Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha’s Mangekyo ability, the strongest Fire Style Jutsu in existence that burns anything it touches and can never be put out until the target is completely destroyed.
Through this connection to her father, Sarada’s ability is similar to the sun, except it focuses on the gravity of the sun that is inescapable and is able to make the planets to revolve around it.
Just as Amaterasu never stops burning, the portals produced by Oohirume never cease in pulling their target within.
It is also possible that one of Sarada’s eyes holds an equivalent to “Flame Control or Kagatsuchi”, Sasuke’s ability to shape the Amaterasu flames to any weapon or form he pleases.
If we go back to the name, however, there are theories by some scholars that Oohirume could mean “wife of the sun” and that there used to be a male solar deity but there has not been much advancement on the idea.
Either way, this ability ties Sarada more to her father, Sasuke.
Then again, the Boruto series has been about Boruto Uzumaki’s role as “the sun” to Mitsuki’s “moon” and if Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan sun-like pattern is anything to go by, it could also tie her as Boruto’s counterpart.
Sarada’s Mangekyo resembling a sun also makes sense since she produces black holes, which are the product of the death of stars and that gravity itself is the result of a star’s incredible mass.
She simply makes the phenomenon happen within a smaller space.
Yodo’s Sacrifice Awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan That Will Save Everyone
Eida and Kashin Koji watch the outcome, with Koji pleased to see Sarada awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan as it was one of his objectives as a step forward in the battle against Jura.
However, Eida points out that the same cannot be said for Yodo, as she is in danger of dying, something Eida was affected by in spite of only knowing the girl from afar, which shows that in spite of everything that happened to Eida, from Amado making her into a cyborg to the Senrigan, Eida is possesses a surprising amount of empathy.
Boruto asks if there is a future where he could save Konohamaru.
Koji mentions that if Boruto did save Konohamaru and be seen by Matsuri, he would have alerted Jura since Jura can see, hear, and sense what the other sentient Shinju experience
Boruto also wonders if there is a way to save Yodo but Koji reveals that he saw a future where Boruto saves Sarada and Yodo and fights Ryu but this results in Sarada being unable to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan.
This is another example of Koji’s non-interference being validated, as while Yodo is sacrificed for Sarada’s awakening, this Mangekyo will save more lives than what is lost along the way, which is something to feel bad for but is a key step forward.
For Boruto, this feels like a breach of trust as Koji never brought this up to him.
Then again, this is still part of Koji’s approach to prevent interfering with destiny.
Meanwhile we cut to Matsuri preparing to devour Konohamaru when a shuriken latches onto her right shoulder.
Boruto steps forward to save Konohamaru and slices Matsuri into pieces.
Mitsuki recovers an unusual metal shape, confirming that this is something Boruto left behind.
However, Jura now senses Boruto, which means that their rematch is about to begin.
Editor’s note: “Boruto will carve through the cruel future!! Even if it means bringing his own death—!”
