Chihiro Meets Another Fanboy? KAGURABACHI CHAPTER 47 SPOILERS

Chapter 47 is titled, “Uruha”

The Kagurabach lead cover page has shots of Uruha and the former wielders of the Enchanted Blades.

The caption reads: “The intense schemes revolving around the Lifelong Contracts of the Enchanted Blades.. – Kagurabachi: “Former Wielder Assassinations Arc!”

This is followed by a color spread that shows Chihiro with Hakuri, Shiba, Hiyuki and Mihara.

The caption reads: “Slash open new horizons never seen before —”

The chapter begins with blood splattering around the mysterious Uruha, the person with the amigasa hat. Their full name is revealed to be Uruha Youj (漆羽・洋児)i. The characters of the name mean “lacquer feather – ocean child”. Their Enchanted Blade is “Kumeyuri” (酌揺), meaning “vibrating sake”

Uruha has a flashback of the time he met Kunishige Rokuhira 18 years before the start of the story, how Uruha was entrusted the Kumeyuri.

Kunishige tells Uruha, “Uruha, you’re worthy of this blade.”

Uruha reflects how this was the highest point of his life, even when he was crazy over the Seitei War. 

Uruha praises Rokuhira as a strong-willed, honest person.

Uruha would repeat Rokuhira’s line in his mind.

There is constant fanboying over Rokuhira in this page as Uruha is high over the day he received Kumeyuri and believes that the highest honor in his life was to fight by Rokuhira’s side.

After the Seitei War, Rokuhira made an agreement to have his Enchanted Blades returned. After this, Rokuhira would disappear. It would be over 15 years before anyone heard anything about Rokuhira.

This left Uruha confused

A High-ranking Kamunabi approaches Uruha. They have a table while Uruha lowers his head

The high-ranked individual tells Uruha about the Hishaku and how they stole every single one of the Enchanted Blades. The organization has already killed one of the wielders, Misaka, (巳坂), ‘Snake Hill’) The Hishaku aim to take the lives of the former wielders so that they can use the stolen blades..

Uruha spills his sake cup.

The High Tier Kamunabi expresses anger that the Hishaku have betrayed the country, saying, “If we let them use the blades as they wish, this country’s done for. This country, that YOU people (the wielders) risked your lives to protect. We won’t let that happen. Just watch, this time we will be the ones protecting you..”

The place to put Uruha in turns out to be the Box of Shame or “Sansou”. “Kokugoku Hot Springs”, a natural hot-spring in northern Toyama prefecture. Surrounded by 14 Kamunabi specially assigned to guard the place at all times. However, this made Uruha feel isolated by the repetition, having the same people around and the same baths surrounding him. The two men would share a bath together.

The High-ranked Kamunabi assures him that it is going to be a nice experience. The man informs Uruha of a clue from headquarters, regarding Kunishige’s son and the seventh blade.

Uruha does not believe that the man in question is Kunishige’s son and is insulted that he bears the Rokuhira name.

The reason for this disbelief is because Uruha thinks that Kunishige could not handle raising a child himself.

Uruha presently reflects that he could not care less if he died, especially three years after Kunishige’s death.

Suddenly, some Kamunabi grunts come to Uruha, telling him that an enemy has come. The men confirm the symbol of the Hishaku and the presence of Spirit-Energy Physical Manifestations.

The high-ranked Kamunabi appears, telling Uruha that the enemy used strange weapons and that they cannot be defeated. However, the man offers to buy him some time to escape and shouts at him to run and not die.

Over 8 kilometers away from Kokugoku Hot Springs, Uruha, now wearing his amigasa hat, recalls the instructions of the high-ranked Kamunabi. The man told Uruha to go to Atago Station as he will tell Kamunabi Headquarters to protect Uruha immediately.

Uruha dismisses the added help, saying that the ones who admire the Enchanted Blades wielders won’t work for him, finding them incompetent at their jobs. Uruha prefers someone like Azami or Hiyuki. 

Uruha is at the station but senses the enemy arriving and Uruah does not see any bodyguards.

Suddenly, someone sneaks up behind Uruha, who turns around and sees Hakuri, who was looking for him.

Uruha asks Hakuri for his badge, which the man shows. Uruha asks how Hakuri noticed him and Hakuri reveals that there is another bodyguard that split up looking for him.

Uruha spots enemies.

Hakuri notes that are three people but Uruha corrects him, saying there are four and they are sorcerers.

Hakuri wonders what the katana on Uruha is but Uruha remarks that it is just a regular sword. 

Hakuri has a flashback, recalling his talk with Chihiro.

In the present, Chihiro explains that Hakuri is unique because normally, one person can only have one type of sorcery, as if there is a capacity limit. 

Those who make a Lifelong Contract to carry an Enchanted Blade will lose their original sorcery ability. What happens to contractors who do not have the Enchanted Blades?

The contractors, having no sorcery or Enchanted Blades, are unable to defend against other sorcerers, which means they need bodyguards.

Back to the present, Hakuri tries to cover Uruha, activating his ability, but the former collapses as his nose bleeds. 

Due to the movement, Uruha’s hat falls off. Uruha recalls the High-ranked Kamunabi telling him that if Uruha dies, his and the other’s sacrifices will be in vain.

Desperate, Uruha tells Hakuri to leave it to him.

Uruha cuts the eyes of one man, who took his hat, while cutting down the other foes.

Uruha remarks that he has gotten weaker.

Hakuri is surprised that Uruha was able to take down four sorcerers by himself with just a regular sword.

Uruha is shocked that the sorcerers after him have not used any strange weapons this time and he wonders if there is a limited amount of restriction, as he is worried that they would be troublesome if there weren’t any.

A Yakuza points at Uruha.

The station announcer says that the train door is now opening. 

Hakuri and Uruha get on the train.

More Yakuza pop up. This makes Uruha remark, “Sprouting forth from every place possible, huh? So we’re like rats in a bag, is what you’re saying?”

The enemies surround the pair but behind them is Chihiro, appearing menacingly in the background.

One of the men turns his back but Chihiro was already behind them and eliminated the yakuza immediately.

Chihiro greets Uruha and tells him that he knew about the man from his dad.

Uruha is shocked to see an Enchanted Blade but assumes that it is a fake.

Chihiro proclaims that he is a bodyguard and promises that Uruha will not die in his watch.

Uruha is surprised to see Chihiro resembles Kunishige. Because of that, Uruha begins to fanboy over Chihiro, which makes Hakuri remark that Uruha will be trouble.
