In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Samura seemingly kills Chihiro and has reported his death to the Hishaku but as it turns out, Chihiro is still alive.

Was this part of Samura’s plan?

What will Chihiro do now with one week before the big attack on the Kamunabi?

Kagurabachi Chapter 60 is “Yomigaeri”

This chapter has 19 pages.

Editor’s note: “A conference!”

This is in reference to a 2002 Japanese horror movie about the sudden resurrection of many supposedly deceased people in a town.

This could be what Chihiro himself is experiencing after seemingly being killed by Samura.

The chapter begins on November 10 at 3:!4 A.M., with the Kamunabi gathering to discuss Hakuri’s eyewitness testimony regarding Samura’s treason and Uruha’s death.

After Azami finishes his report, the Kamunabi express surprise that Samura of all people has become their enemy.

The Gremlin Kamunabi that both the Tobimune and Kumeyuri are now in enemy hands.

The Giraffe Kamunabi asks for Hakuri’s condition.

Azami explains that although Hakuri was able to give a detailed account of what happened, Hakuri suffered much damage to the nerves that control sorcery and he is now in intensive care.

The Ear Kamunabi is also checking on the sealing of the Shinuchi.

The Blond Beard Kamunabi remarks that the sealing of the Shinuchi is progressing 3/5ths of the way.

Considering Hakuri’s control over the transfer of the Magatsumi blade has been severed, the Ear Kamunabi considers using it.

Now we finally get an explanation on what’s going on with the sky from last chapter.

It’s apparently from one of Tobiume’s attacks called “The Owl”, which acts as an Enchanted Blade detector.

There have been reports from different Kamunabi branches across the country confirming that its wings stretch across Japan.

This means that Samura wasn’t using it in one city but the minute he activated it, the Owl spread its wings across Japan, with the head staring down at the city where Yura was as if its eyes were two moons.

This was how Samura tracked Yura, which meant

Through Tobiume, Samura expended a significant amount of spirit energy, which might make one wonder how powerful Samura’s levels of spirit energy truly are, on top of his impressive swordsmanship.

The Blond Bearded Kamunabi seems to be on Samura’s side because Samura is against the Hishaku using the Enchanted Blades for selfish ends and then asks if the other two wielders are well-hidden.

The user they spoke about is Subaru, who is in a restaurant, apparently being distracted by making sushi due to how he cannot remain still.

The Gremlin Kamunabi remarks that due to the recent transportation of the two wielders, the Kamunabi will be entering an information standstill for the next few days.

The Blond Beard suggests that they let Samura and the Hishaku wear each other out mentally and that using the Magatsumi Blade now might pose risks.

This means that letting Samura look for wielders in vain for a week will help break down that alliance and maybe provoke Samura to kill the Hishaku prematurely, even if he does need them to wear down the Sword Saint.

Now that Yura is on the defensive, the Ear Kamunabi suggests that they should set up an ambush

Meanwhile Chihiro finds himself in the hospital, with Shiba sitting by his side.

Shiba confirms Uruha’s death and Chihiro quietly mourns Uruha’s death.

But Shiba reveals that yes, Chihiro actually also died.

Because on a technicality Chihiro died, this meant that Chihiro also lost his contract with Enten.

As it turns out, Samura also intended for Chihiro to only die briefly and be able to resuscitate from death.

There were two reasons for this: first, to provoke Shiba himself and tell him that he is next, and second, to cut the lifelong contract between Chihiro and Enten, to stop his vengeful path.

Considering Shiba’s involvement with Kunishige, it is possible that Reason 1 is a truth Shiba uses to conceal the truth that Shiba wanted to hide and Samura wanted to expose regarding the Enchanted Blades.

Chihiro is puzzled by Samura’s reasons for killing Uruha but before Shiba could talk, the The Makizumi captain appears and informs him of Hakuri’s recovery and guilt over the situation. Yes, Chihiro mistakes this 20-year old shrimp for a child.

Shiba did try to contact the Kamunabi regarding the possibility of looking into Uruha’s body but they did not permit him access to the morgue.

Chihiro is still adamant about learning the truth behind Samura’s motives for doing these terrible things, a frustration the Makizumi captain shares.

Chihiro is tired of being left in the dark, especially after all the killing he has been through,

He wants to learn about the world with his own eyes, as his dad taught him, so he asks Shiba to tell him the full truth behind his dad’s death and the Enchanted Blades in order to tell Samura that he will go to hell with him as well.

Shiba remarks that the attempt on Chihiro’s life was a kindness and a second attempt means he will take the Enten away.

Shiba brings out Enten and makes Chihiro promise not to die a second time.

Meanwhile back in the meeting, the Kamunabi consider building a Samura force but they also remark that there already exists one, one that makes no sound or smell and we cut back to a warehouse of ninja tools and attire.

The chapter ends as Chihiro acquires a ninja attire, which resembles a business suit, which the two Makizuki also wear, as they enter an elevator heading to a different location.
