Hakuri Joins the Battle! Kagurabachi Chapter 55 Spoilers!!
Hakuri steps forward, re-activating his sorcery to help protect the former Enchanted Blade wielders.
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Yura talks to his fellow Hishaku about the plan to kill the former Enchanted Blade Wielders and the role of the immature Hiruhiko on the mission.However, just as Hiruhiko explains a bit about the ten-man Hishaku group, Samura confronts a new Hishaku member in the Temple of Senkutsu.
Kagurabachi Chapter 55 is titled “Joint Battle”
This chapter has 19 pages.
We begin with Hakuri getting up from the table as Masumi notes that Hakuri’s bodily exhaustion is different from a physical injury.
Narration notes that Hakuri’s Storehouse is taking longer than usual to recover.
If you recall in Chapter 50, the female Masumi sorcerer has the means to speed up the recovery of Hakuri’s sorcery, which is another way of saying that the Masumi is a healer, attempting to hasten the recovery of a weakened body part (that is to say, the sorcery).
This is because with Storehouse, Hakuri can transport the former Enchanted Blade wielders and thus reach the blades owned by those wielders to give them a shot against the Hishaku.
Right now, the 30 minute recovery window, which ensures “risk-free” use of Storehouse, is 10 minutes away and Samura is facing off against a Hishaku member.
The female Masumi reveals that the risk of a faster recovery is brain damage, resulting in the loss of sorcery at best, death at worst.
Uruha gets a call from Chihiro and passes the phone to Hakuri, informing him that all the Hishaku forces are coming to the Temple, which leads the female Masumi to call for an evacuation.
While Hakuri is worried about annoying Samura with backup, Uruha says that there is a squad to handle Samura, the Makizumi and the two Masumi sorcerers wake up their commander.
The commander is actually a child who wears the same sunglasses and black clothes as Samura, even trying to smoke and even imitates Samura’s line in Chapter 51: “I’m gonna need to get fired up here..”
The female Masumi remarks that the commander is only “a child in body”, which could make one wonder if this body is some sort of effect from sorcery and the commander is actually an adult.
We return to Samura’s fight with the Hat Hishaku as Samura challenges the Hishaku to come down and fight him properly.
The Hat Hishaku says that it is foolish to come down and there are creative ways for him to handle it.
Samura hears explosions from behind and decapitates one of the Datenseki henchmen with ease, which leads the Hat Hishaku to realize that Samura only reacts to killing intent, not sound.
The Hat Hishaku throws trees at Samura, which makes the blind swordsman struggle to block them.
The Hat Hishaku is the perfect opponent for a man who reacts quickly to human malice.
From within the Temple, Uruha understands how difficult Samura’s situation is now given the explosions have blocked off Samura’s echolocation.
Uruha explains to the young commander why it is not ideal to team up with Samura, as familiar smells will be drowned in the scent of gunpowder and the sound of loud explosions.
However, the boy refuses to hear it and the monk remarks that the kid’s squad has the special skills to keep up with Samura.
The two Masumi sorcerers appear to chop the tree branches.
They are a covert group that specialize in ninjutsu, specifically in stealth, to remove scent, sound and even killing intent, making them turn “into nothing”.
Because of that, they act as silent helpers to make sure Samura fights uninterrupted.
However, Samura senses the enemy “lowering in quantity” and is familiar with the sensation of this help so he calls out the commander and the squad, which the monk names “Kamunabi Oniwa-ban: Samura’s Elite Guards: Makizumi”
The wall near Hakrui and Uruha is broken as Datenseki sorcerers come in. More Datenseki also surround the Makizumi and Samura.
So Uruha and Hakuri join up yet this is what the Hat Hishaku was counting on as they are now in his trap.
Soon, Uruha joins up with Samura, even as Hakuri recalls Uruha’s words about joining up being a bad idea.
We see a flashback of the “Iai White Purity School” and we see the name-cards for both Uruha Youji and Samura Seichi: with 2 more that are left blurred
And in the present, Uruha and Samura seamlessly slide past each other, killing sorcerers in the process
Samura recognizes Uruha, who explains that he has seen Samura’s swordsmanship so many times already that he is able to imitate him, making Samura annoyed with how cocky Uruha is.
The female Masumi heads to Hakuri and forms a transportation ring on the ground.
They have the perfect opportunity to weaken the Hishaku.
The Makizumi squad will make sure the Hishaku focuses on the Temple and use up their Datenseki stones while Hakuri, Uruha and Samura can get away.
The Masumi are willing to sacrifice their lives to see this happen.
However, Hakuri steps forward, saying that he has yet to risk his life in this battle and activates his sorcery.
