In the previous part of Blue Lock Chapter 288, Yukimiya takes away Isagi’s genius pass and we will see the continuation of the game now.
Chapter 288 is titled, “Death Game”
Part 2 contains 12 pages, for a total of 20 pages for the whole chapter.
This chunk starts with Isagi notion that crisis is a good thing.
He notes that what he wanted was not a pawn that could guarantee him stability and make him lower his guard but an unexpected piece that brings change.

Isagi describes Yukimiya as a “selfish genius” as well, so adapting to
Yukimiya reads Isagi’s move and declares that he will not let Isagi adapt.
As we know in Blue Lock, in every football game, there are two battles, the battle against the opposing team and the battle within the team itself.
Having learned from Isagi’s sacrifice play from Chapter 284: “Soul”, Yukimiya remarks that he too is willing to sacrifice everything for victory, even if it hurts himself in the process.
Yukimiya kicks the ball towards the goal but what stops him is Charles Chevalier.
However, also learning from Isagi, Yukimiya notes that his opponent Charles is a “useful brat” as the ball draws close to Isagi.
It seems that this falls into Isagi’s plans as well, which means that Yukimiya was willing to sacrifice his chance at the goal just like Isagi, all so that Isagi could make this move.
However, Isagi notes that the ball coming to him is a 50-50 loose ball and that 35 meters is still too far for him to make the shot.
At the same time, dribbling the ball at this point would be a bad move, so Isagi considers passing the ball to Alexis Ness instead.
As Ness heads for the ball, Isagi eagerly awaits the moment of victory but…
Ness, predictably, passes the ball to Kaiser instead and dribbles the ball, looking for him.

Kaiser calls out Ness and tells him to give up football already, while Isagi glares at Ness, saying that football is a death game of natural selection, making the guy sweat into a puddle.
