Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 29 Gives Choso a Happy Ending
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 29 finally gave us a complete scene of Choso protecting Yuji while saying goodbye to his brothers instead of just Yuji.
Volume 29 of Jujutsu Kaisen contained numerous redraws, particularly for Sukuna’s incomplete Domain Expansion in being blackened instead of its more plain, unshaded form in Chapter 262.
This results in the monstrosity that was Malevolent Shrine shows its more defined and frightening features, such as its multiple eyes and two mouths.
The most prominent change, however, is an extension of Choso’s death and story conclusion for Jujutsu Kaisen.

This gives Chapter 259 an additional 4 pages added early in the chapter, after the explanation of Sukuna’s Binding Vow to activate Divine Flame.
As such, Chapter 259 has a total of 23 pages.
When Sukuna’s Divine Flame reaches Yuji, Choso steps forward and forms a spherical barrier made of blood to cover himself and Yuji.
He tells himself to keep transforming his cursed energy into blood and maintaining the outer shell covering the brothers with Blood Meteorite.
He consciously tries to constantly reform his blood cells to block the Divine Flame further, all to maintain his pride as Yuji’s older brother.
But as he withstands the intense flames, Choso hears the voice of his late brother, Eso, behind him.
Like Jogo in Chapter 116, Choso enters an afterlife, maybe even something related to Mahito’s Cursed Realm passageway or Gojo’s airport (and the picnic with Yuji much later in the chapter).
Here, Eso and Kechizu appear, telling Choso that they were the ones who forced the role of Yuji’s caretaker upon Choso and together tell Choso to choose his final words to impart to Yuji, which leads us to the content we already know, where Yuji is surprised to see Choso forming the blood shell and covering Yuji.
