One Piece Chapter 1120 Spoilers:

In this long 19-page chapter, we start with a fascinating flashback that takes place 26 years ago in Punk Hazard. At that time, lush green forests and palms surrounded the facilities. At the entrance, two men engage in a crucial conversation: Vegapunk, accompanied by his two dragons, and Clover.

Clover pleads with Vegapunk to assist him with his “Void Century” research, emphasizing the need for knowledge from various fields. However, Vegapunk, now aligned with the government, refuses vehemently.

“Do you remember how many times you have been arrested!?” Vegapunk exclaims. “They have got their eyes on you!! I’m sure you know why you can still roam free like you are!! It’s to follow you to your den!! To capture all of your friends!!”

Clover then reveals a deeply personal connection to the research. He witnessed a man with a “D” in his name being killed right before his eyes—his own brother. Clover’s real name is “Claíomh D. Clover,” a truth he hid to survive. Vegapunk is shocked by this revelation but he remains steadfast in his refusal to help.

As Vegapunk walks away, Clover tearfully declares, “Are you telling me that there are people in this world who deserve to be killed just by being born or stating their name?”

Cut to 22 years ago, news broke that Ohara had been obliterated by the Buster Call. Vegapunk is deeply saddened, while Caesar expresses a disturbing eagerness to witness the massacre firsthand. In a poignant scene, Vegapunk visits Ohara, lamenting the loss of a life dedicated to preserving a pile of books.

This moment happens just before the flashback seen in chapter 1,066 when Dragon appears in Ohara. Vegapunk cries as he looks at a young Nico Robin’s wanted poster, questioning the worth of such sacrifices.

“So you all died to save this pile of books!? Who in the world would be foolish enough to risk their life to carry on your research!?” he laments.

Back in the present, Vegapunk’s message continues, reaching various locations. At Baratie, Zeff and Patty listen intently, while at Tequila Wolf, guards whip prisoners. In Egghead, Robin is deeply moved, covering her eyes with her hand as she listens.

“History is written by winners,” Vegapunk’s message states. “The voices of the losers are faint, buried deep under the sea… But after many sacrifices, I’ve been able to determine some of the buried truths, and I relayed them to the world!! I pray that my message so far has been broadcast safely…”

Meanwhile, in the Labo Phase, Zoro and Jinbe are on the Thousand Sunny. Nusjuro was blown far away but is making his way back. Lilith stops the Straw Hat crew from taking off, warning that if Nusjuro attacks midair, the ship’s speed will drop, and they won’t reach the sea.

Suddenly, Atlas appears and punches Lilith, knocking her unconscious. Atlas turns off a device on Lilith’s head, and York notes that only Atlas remains.

Atlas, now determined, tells Nami and the others, “Please, take care of Lilith. I will eliminate your obstacle!!” As Nusjuro rushes back, Atlas flies and grabs him, even as he slices off one of her arms. Using her “DOM Shoes” and jet pack, Atlas pushes Nusjuro out of the way, allowing the Thousand Sunny to take off using the “Coup de Burst.”

On Egghead shore, Emeth excitedly greets Luffy, calling him Joy Boy. Luffy, confused, looks around, but Emeth insists, “I am talking to you!! Your enemy is my enemy. I’m glad to be able to fight for you again, Joy Boy!!” Luffy is amazed that Emeth can talk, and Emeth vows to protect Joy Boy.

As the Thousand Sunny flies towards the sea, nearing an Elbaf ship, Usopp and Chopper cry for Atlas. “We can reach the sea!!” the Straw Hat Pirates cheer. York, observing the chaos, tells the Five Elders that Atlas’ signal has disappeared, leaving her as the only remaining Dr. Vegapunk.

In an intense final sequence, Ju Peter and Warcury charge at Emeth to stop the broadcast. Despite its broken arm and deteriorating condition, Emeth stands firm. The broadcast from Vegapunk keeps going, giving hints at how the world will be in the future when the voices of the past remain unaltered. In a dramatic penultimate panel, prisoners in Impel Down are shocked by the revelation, “He said Gol ‘D’?”

The chapter ends with the promise of more excitement next week, as One Piece will NOT go on a break as it’ll celebrate its 27th anniversary with a Jump cover and Color Spread in chapter 1,121.
