Shanks’ Twin vs Loki Will Utterly Break Elbaph Apart! One Piece Chapter 1135 Full Spoilers!!
Either this Shanks will meet Luffy first or he will be the one that frees Loki and causes all hell to break lose.
In the previous One Piece chapter, we learn more about the Owl Library, the pacifism of some Giants who were educated by Saul and the other teachers, and end on the sudden appearance of what appears to be Shanks and his female partner to end One Piece in 2024.
This will be the first One Piece chapter of 2025.
Chapter 1135 is titled, “Sake Cups of Friendship”.
After basically a whole month, we return to the cover story “Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage”, now into Volume 21, where we see Otama freed from Holdem’s clutches by her own power, apparently!
The caption reads: “I’m different now compared to that day!”
Editor’s note: ”The source of knowledge of the Giants,”
Biblo the Giant Owl
The chapter starts with Saul introducing Robin and the others to Biblo, the chief librarian of the Library of the Owl and where it gets its name from.
Apparently, Biblo is an owl that is as long-lived as the Giants themselves and every book that enters his domain grows big
Like Wano, Elbaph is not affiliated with the World Government and so it is hard to directly get any News or News Coo birds into the area.
Instead, Elbaph relies on fishermen to bring “the little newspaper” to the Owl Library, which grows inside.
Lilith theorizes that Biblo likely ate the “Iku Iku no Mi”, a Paramecia Devil Fruit that lets him transform non-living or inorganic objects into giant size and turns the user into a “Nurturing Owl”.
This makes the owl quite a convenient fit for Giant society.
Giant Children Are Cowards For Luffy?
Meanwhile, Luffy plays with the kids and…it is quite rough.
The Giant children get scared of Luffy’s antics and Nami beats him to a pulp for doing that.
Nami has a soft spot for children and she has actually taken care of the Gigantified children experimented by Caesar Clown on Punk Hazard.
Usopp was also beaten, even though he insists that he was also trying to stop Luffy.
The sight of violence makes the children leap to Gerd’s chest in cry.
Luffy is mad that these Giant kids of warrior culture Elbaph are not acting like proud warriors but crybabies.
Sanji stops Luffy, saying that the children of Elbaph are meek and kind.
However, the giant kids stare at Sanji and smile at the way they take advantage of being kids in front of beautiful women, the same way Momo did when he was in his child form and gets mad at them.
Ah yes, Sanji’s trust in the innocence of children utterly shattered a second time and whether or not you like Sanji’s perv gag, he does deserve this.
Luffy and Chopper are the only actual children left in the One Piece world at this rate.
Luffy is upset that the kids act like cowards but Usopp says that Elbaph has become peaceful, so that warrior culture is gone.
Yeah, admittedly Luffy’s concept of innocence and freedom does mean he expects people to not be cowards (which he shares with Eren from Attack on Titan) but this seems to be an arc where Luffy’s simple perception of people is either tested or further explored.
For example, at the start of Elbaph, Luffy did not call out Road for caging humans,
This sort of exploration could also remind people of how Gon Freecss from Hunter x Hunter is explored, who was surprisingly friendly with Binolt, a cannibalistic serial killer that helped in their training (or was forced to by Bisky) in Greed Island, on top of how Gon was not completely fazed that his best friend Killua of the Zoldyck assassin family has killed a lot of people ever since he was a kid.
Both Gon and Luffy are fatherless children who seek adventure but while Gon’s fatherless background is important, Luffy’s isn’t at all.
What makes both comparable is their simple, straightforward and childlike worldview
In a way, Elbaph as an arc seems to suggest that pacifism is not actually natural to them.
However, so is loving war.
Society teaches its “must’s” and “morals”: either be warlike or be peaceful, or else be an outsider.
Luffy does not necessarily endorse warmongering per se but he admires warriors and honor cultures because of the simple fact that they are “cool”.
He should try exploring the world of Vinland Saga. Maybe he might finally get his Eren “I am disappointed” moment there.
Colon the Warrior Child vs Gear 3 Luffy
All of a sudden, Colon, the giant kid Shanks was talking to at the bar in Chapter 1076: “Old Friends”, attacks Luffy.
His wooden sword broke on contact with Luffy, which could either be due to the sword being flimsy wood that would break upon contact with a Rubber Man or Luffy’s Haki protecting him.
In turn, Luffy punches him with Gear 3: Elephant Gun, which is quite drastic.
However, Colon moves out of the way and is unharmed.
Usopp scolds Luffy for going too far but Luffy, much like a child would, excuses himself, saying that it did not hit him anyway.
Now the Giant girls are scared of Luffy and remark of their hatred for violence while Colon is impressed, “as expected of an Emperor”.
Attacking someone like Big Mom or Kaido would lead to a whole different outcome for Colon, though.
The Giant girls explain that they hate Colon because he is violent.
Ripley scolds Colon but she does praise him for the attack.
Ripley is Colon’s mother and Colon’s father is a human and former pirate who was strong enough that he would not lose to any of Elbaph’s warriors.
Ripley says that her husband is younger than her.
But keep in mind that Giants age slower than humans.
Not wanting to be the only one in the family that ages, the father opted not to marry Ripley, who ends up as a common-law wife instead.
This man would be so interesting to see.
Is he the wild blonde-haired man that has been roaming around Elbaph’s forests?
If that is Shiki, then it would be an interesting but welcoming surprise.
The Oldest Treasure Tree Adam
While Robin, Lilith, Chopper, and Bonney want to keep staying in the library. Luffy decides to go ahead to the feast because he was still hungry.
Franky said the island itself was the Treasure Tree Adam.
Saul noted that in various books, the Treasure Tree Adam could be found around the world, but the age of the Treasure Tree Adam of Elbaph was incomparable, being the oldest in the world.
This could set up the Thousand Sunny being repaired or modified by Elbaph’s Adam wood, which happens to be the material that it is made from.
Gerd asks the newcomer Straw Hats for a favor and to try out new clothes that Gerd herself made. This is a hobby of hers and so she is happy to see Brook, Franky, Jinbei, and Robin try them on.
Shanks’ Twin Looks For Loki
At Aurust Castle, located in the vicinity of the Western Village of Elbaph, where the two mystery people were teleported into, some Giants asked how the two came in and if they were members of the Straw Hats.
The woman spoke, saying they were looking for someone named Loki, which alarmed the Giants since Loki is an “Evil Influence” on Elbaph.
Sounds like an indicator he is a “D”, which is funny since Saul is from the D Clan and he has plenty of D relatives, much like the Monkey family.
But could the label also be because of King Harald’s will for peace between races and Loki wanting a revival of Warland?
This will be an interesting exploration of Luffy’s mentality, considering he loves warriors and the Giants returning to War might pose potential pitfalls for outside world relations and the safety of the innocents beyond. It might even be the pretext the World Government needs to exterminate the Giants and brand them as devils.
The woman keeps pushing for an answer but the Giants refuse, which makes the woman throw many projectiles that cause the Giants to fall on their knees, screaming in agony.
The woman talks arrogantly to the Giants, saying that their heads were “too high” and that made them “impolite fools”.
The woman clarified that she was not asking a question but was “ordering” them to answer her.
The woman’s companion, who resembled Shanks, does not show his face here.
Instead, we see a sword handle, similar to the sword handle of Shanks’ Gryphon and Garling’s sword.
Could this indicate that Shanks’ family share a swordsmith or perhaps yet another clue that this person is indeed Shanks.
So it seems that the World Government is preparing for a Purge but this seems to be in an “opposite direction”
In Chapter 908: “The Levely Begins”, the Five Elders asks Imu “which light” shall be extinguished from history.
Now in Chapter 1135, the Holy Knights are looking to extinguish someone that the Giants consider an “evil influence”.
Each land seems to have some sort of figure of importance.
Perhaps much like CP-9 or CP-0, they are assassinating these figures to either stop a war or trigger one.
Perhaps King Cobra, Vegapunk and the Lulusia Kingdom are “lights” to be extinguished while Loki would be something else.
Sake Cups of Friendship
– Cut to the Western Village of Elbaph, where the feast had started.
As Luffy and Usopp rejoice at finally reaching Elbaph, Dorry, Brogy, Kashii, Oimo and Hajrudin all thank Luffy and the Straw Hats for all that they have done.
The Straw Hats allowed Dorry and Brogy to settle their duel and encourage them to return back home to Elbaph after a century away.
Kashii and Oimo were freed from their servitude to Enies Lobby and were able to learn that their captains, Dorry and Brogy, were still alive and free.
And Hajrudin was freed from Sugar’s control as a puppet in Dressrosa thanks to God Usopp and would become part of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
The Giants praise Luffy for being an Emperor and his crew for being the ones who brought down the two Emperors, Kaido and Big Mom, during the “Wano Country Incident”
So they all raise a toast to their friendship, “Sake Cups of Friendship”, hence the chapter title.
Stansen introduces himself to Luffy, who finally realizes that he was that Giant in the slavery auction in Sabadoy Archipelago.
He was first introduced in Chapter 500: “Embers of History” and was freed by Silvers Rayleigh.
Because of Luffy’s presence, the auction was disrupted, allowing many of the slaves to run free and choose their fates, such as Jean Bart joining Law’s Heart Pirates.
Stansen would join the New Giant Warrior Pirates as their shipwright but we learn here that he was already a childhood friend of Hajrudin.
Jarul arrived at the feast.
His intro box read:
“Mountain Beard Jarul! Hero of the Giants One of the oldest beings in the world 408 years old”
Luffy is shocked to see that the old Giant had a sword sticking out of his head but Jarul notes that the helmet saved him.
However, Luffy is surprised the elder thought it this way even though the sword was piercing through his skull.
Jarul is one of the elders that opposed King Harald’s pacifism.
Will this cause some sort of conflict within Elbaph while Loki and the Holy Knights move along their plots?
