Scopper Gaban Used Only 1% of His Power Against Luffy and Zoro! One Piece Chapter 1140 Full Spoilers!!

Gaban must have known about Nika to trust Luffy like Shanks did, which means there is something up among the Roger Pirates, possibly even a plan to bring back Nika.

In the previous One Piece chapter, we finally confirmed that the mystery man of Elbaph is indeed Scopper Gaban and he challenges Luffy for Loki’s key.

One Piece Chapter 1140 is titled, “Scopper Gaban”.

This chapter is 17 pages long.

We continue with Volume 26 of the cover story, “Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage” as Ulti is tied to a dartboard threatening Who’s Who while he’s throwing knives at her.

Ulti says, “If anything happens to Pe-tan, I will follow you to the deepest depth of hell and kill you there”.

The chapter begins where the last one ended as Luffy is confused by the offer of a duel.

Zoro thinks to what Colon said about his father Ya-san.

Luffy attempts to swipe the key by stretching his hand out but Gaban dodges it easily.

Annoyed, Luffy jumps closer to Gaban and tries to take the key again but this time, Gaban coats the key with Armament Haki and smashes Luffy into the ground with the Haki-coated key, resulting in black lightning flashing on impact.

This means Gaban has both Armament and Conqueror’s Haki, which confirms that the original Monster Trio, Roger, Rayleigh, and Gaban, can use Conqueror’s Haki.

It looks like Sanji needs an arc to awaken his Conqueror’s Spirit much like Zoro did on Wano.

Will we see Sanji gain Conqueror’s Haki to complete the Monster Trio set, having all three Haki types?

Luffy emerges from the rubble and tries to swipe the key in a similar way he performs the Gum Gum Gatling but Gaban dodges them easily, which may imply Observation Haki perhaps and therefore Gaban might have all three Haki types.

Gaban compliments on the Straw Hat Luffy is wearing, which he says suits Luffy better than the helmet, while Luffy says it is obviously better because it is a treasure Shanks gave to him.

Gaban claims to be surprised that Shanks did not ask him to keep the Straw Hat, which could be a subtle discourse in itself, that it is Luffy who decides how much he owns the Straw Hat and, by extension, its legacy connected to Roger (and possibly Joy Boy and the Nika fruit) and calls Shanks a stingy man.

Luffy is angered by the apparent insult to Shanks, saying that Gaban has no right to say that stuff when he does not know anything about Shanks but Gaban says “right back at you” to show that Luffy does not know everything about Shanks and shoves the key into the boy’s mouth, which makes Luffy’s head resemble the giant key.

Gaban takes out two axes and unleashes an attack called “Yasotakeru” (Army of Fierce Warriors), which makes Zoro tell Luffy to get out of the way, which is not common for Zoro to do but indicates that Gaban is too serious of an opponent.

Luffy senses Gaban’s powerful Haki and his face changes to a funny worried expression as the attack lands, unleashing multiple axe blows that destroy one of the castle towers. Luffy barely dodges the attack and Zoro stops part of it with his 3 swords.

From the apparently 20 attacks, it seemed that one slash was blocked, while the rest would damage the rest of the castle.

Gaban praises Zoro as a “good crewmate”

From behind Zoro, Luffy emerges in his Gear 5 form, with his Elbaph clothing and axe turning white and his helmet fusing with his hair, making him have horns.

With those horns, he either appears like a devil or a smaller version of an Ancient Giant.

And it seems that Luffy did not activate out of anger, as we stated in our early spoiler reading, but the opposite: he was in the mood to fight.

Gaban smiles, remarking that it is the “white form”, which confirms his knowledge of the Nika fruit and potentially ties Gaban to Shanks and Roger’s plan to revive Nika.

Gear 5 Luffy and Gaban clash, resulting in most of the castle being destroyed.

The panels of towers being destroyed throughout the chapter show us how strong Gaban really is and how he lives up to the name “Mountain Eater” as those towers might as well be the size of mountains, since this is the Royal Castle.

As Luffy and Zoro continue their attack on Gaban, Gaban smirks and raises his hands, letting of his axes as he suddenly gives up, entrusting the key to Luffy.

But since Luffy and Zoro were about to land an axe, they end up crashing into rocks to stop themselves.

Luffy and Zoro are angry because they do not get to continue the fight.

Road was about to tell Luffy that Ya-san is Gaban but Gaban stops Road as he puts up his robe and kasa hat.

Gaban tells Road not to rush it and asks him to come see him once Elbaph is still safe.

It seems Gaban will not be involved in the action.

Gaban turns back and has a brief flashback to the moment Shanks came to meet Gaban in Elbaph.

Shanks tells Gaban about a certain pirate but Gaban asks Shanks if he expects Gaban to trust Luffy so easily.

Shanks says that Gaban can do as he pleases.

Gaban has departed from this part of the story, so does this put the idea of him being the “man marked by flames” to rest? Perhaps not.

After all, he may be out of this segment but it does not mean he will not get involved later in the story, especially with all this Shamrock business.

We cut to the “Walrus School” as the kids tell their teacher Ange about a strange bird flying by but Ange does not see the bird.

We cut to a forest in the “Sun World”, which is near the “Walrus School”, the target for Shamrock’s sinister scheme.

Shamrock and Gunko land on a huge branch and Shamrock is surprised Elbaph even has a school.

Gunko raises her hand and creates a magic circle on the surface of the branch, resulting in black lightning falling from the sky like the lightning in the Attack on Titan anime that comes during Titan transformations.

From this magic circle, two new God’s Knights appear in an epic double page but they both come in different states.

The first God’s Knight is Saint Sommers from the Shepherd Family, the family of Elder Ju Peter, and is a middle-aged man with glasses, long hair and beard, with a cross-shaped goatee.

However, he is only wearing a tank top and his underwear, sitting down on a luxurious armchair as he is conversing with someone over a Den Den Mushi.

Conveniently, Sommers came along with his trunk of clothes.

This confirms that the magic circles bring in the objects attached to the target but also adjacent items, which means the Five Elders were not close to their luxury seats or in their bathrobes when they were summoned by Saturn in Chapter 1109: “Interception”.

Sommers is talking to someone, possibly some of the staff in suits we see around the Celestial Dragons when they go outside.

Sommers is not fully aware that he was summoned outside Mary Geoise and says that he still needs to change and do some preparations that will take an hour.

Sommers also asks about the food supplies, which were looted due to Sabo and the Revolutionary Army’s invasion during the Levely.

However, as Sommers was talking, he was surprised that something happened to the transmission.

It seems to be cut off by the teleportation.

Meanwhile, his companion was more prepared.

The second God’s Knight summoned is Saint Gillingham of the Limoshif (or Limotive, a name we will get a clearer reading on with official translations).

Although not given a label in this chapter, he has the Mythical Zoan that allows him to turn into a”Kirin”, with the name in Japanese being “Kiringamu” and judging from the white clouds floating above Gillingham’s neck, like Luffy, Lucci, Kaku and the Five Elders, this Mythical Zoan is Awakened.

Gillingham appears in hybrid form. He has a very long neck with a long mane. His head is similar to a horse’s head but with 2 horns and 2 long whiskers. Gillingham wears a military uniform similar to Shamrock’s and he’s gripping a strange trident.

Unlike all the God’s Knights and Five Elders we have met so far, Gillingham is actually wearing the resin bubble that Celestial Dragons put on when venturing into the “lower world”.

As unaware as Sommers is, Gillingham is worried about being late, saying he has been half-asleep, even though he already has the bubble helmet on.

Sommers notices that Shamrock and Gunko are standing in front of him, with Gunko turning away due to Sommers being in his underwear.

Sommers still thinks he is in his house but the two new God’s Knights are shocked that they are now both on Elbaph.

With the introduction of these two characters, we have confirmation of at least ten named Celestial Dragon families, meaning potentially ELEVEN of the First Twenty have been revealed.

The two God’s Knights are summoned in funny ways, which adds needed levity to this portion of the arc that has been a little too serious but also allows us to see how the mysterious magic circles work.

Eventually, the two compose themselves as Shamrock asks why two of them were summoned when he only asked for one.

Gillingham, now more serious, explains that Shamrock has been summoned back to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise by orders from above.

Perhaps Shamrock is being called by his daddy Garling or all the Five Elders.

Will Shamrock be sent out to deal with his brother Shanks, who is on his way to retrieve the One Piece?

While dressing himself up, Sommers is amazed by the size of the Giant’s Country but asks Shamrock why he is in a non-World Government country and thinks that the commander is visiting King Harald’s grave.

That sounds like immediate confirmation that Shamrock was not only here before but potentially was responsible for killing Harald but judging from Loki’s reaction in Chapter 1138: “Harley”, it seemed that Shamrock only recently offended him.

However, this statement could be another hint to the events leading to Harald’s death and Loki’s imprisonment as how else were Gunko and Shamrock able to teleport here?

It would make logical sense that the God’s Knights, like the real-life CIA or other clandestine organizations, would be responsible for destabilizing an independent government.

After all, CP0 were negotiating with Orochi during the Wano Country Arc before their priorities shifted to killing Luffy and capturing Nico Robin.

Then, in the final page of the chapter, we see how the four God’s Knights observe the Giant kids in “Walrus School” from the top of the giant branch.

Sommers has finally put on his military uniform, which is similar to that of his companions but with several medals and a rose in the chest.

Sommers also carries a sword on his waist with a thorny handle.

Thorns? Perhaps a sign that this sound, like Cerberus, has a Devil Fruit? Or a hint to Sommers’ own powers, possibly the second plant Logia, the Iba Iba no Mi?

Sommers discusses the plan to kidnap the Giant kids but Gillingham remarks that those without the “mark” cannot pass through the “Abyss” (which has the kanji for “Pentagram”).

This chapter has shown us how the magic circles called Abyss work.

The user forms a circle, with black lightning dropping down when someone is about to come out.

However, this requires that the people being teleported are marked.

Gillingham is annoyed that they will have to transport the Giant kids by ship as he makes a snoring sound, much to Gunko’s annoyance.

The last panel shows Shamrock bringing out a smile as he says that with the powers of the three God’s Knights, they can make a “game” out of this.

So a miniature version of the Native Hunting Competition, like the one on God Valley 38 years ago?

Are we going to see a Culling Game-like event, where the three God’s Knights race to kidnap as many kids as possible and potentially fight the adults?

Author’s comment: “To prepare for a Gigantamax Battle , I walked around the city for three hours after finishing my draft. Now my legs feel as heavy as stone” (Pokémon-related)

There will be NO BREAK next week.

One Piece Chapter 1141 will be released on March 3, 2025.
