Shin and Sakamoto’s First Teamup! Sakamoto Days Chapter 198 Spoilers!
A fun Sakamoto Days flashback involving fighting in the dark and pianos.
In the previous Sakamoto Days chapter, after distracting Sakamoto with random citizens, Shin finally meets his real father but the man quickly disowns him and even tries to throw him to the sea until Sakamoto rescues Shin as the former heads to assassinate Ando.
Days 198 is titled, “A Useful Boy”
This chapter has 19 pages.
The chapter begins where we left off in the cruiser, with Sakamoto declaring to Shin that he intends to kill the boy’s father right in front of him.
Shin asks what Ando did to merit assassination but Sakamoto himself is unsure as he tends to avoid knowing too much about his targets.
Shin considers Sakamoto useless for this and goes ahead to find Ando.
In another hallway, a man with glasses ask Ando’s friend if Shin, whom they threw off the ship last chapter, was still alive.
Ando’s friend mentions Sakamoto, whom they suspect is an assassin sent by their organization.
The man in glasses orders Ando’s friend to find Sakamoto and Shin and kill them.
After seeing the two men from a porthole, Shin offers to guide Sakamoto around the ship, though it feels like Shin was equally lost and needed an adult.
Shin is amazed by the amenities of the ship: ten restaurants, a swimming pool, a gym, and a bar, even a theater and casino.
This makes the ship more of a city than a boat.
Sakamoto is annoyed by how tedious the search is.
Suddenly, Shin feels pain as they get close to a crowded place, a weakness to his clairvoyance due to how people’s thoughts flood into him.
Recalling how the scientists viewed him with disgust due to his mind-reading, Shin expresses frustration with how Sakamoto does not fear him at all and wished he never even had his abilities.
Music suddenly plays and the two spot a pianist, who Sakamoto identifies as an assassin because of the man’s hands having small scratches and gun marks.
Mentally, Sakamoto relays how trapped they are, as the whole room is full of assassins.
Sakamoto tells Shin to stay in tune with his thoughts.
Suddenly, a man with a knife appears behind Shin but Sakamoto imagines killing Shin himself, which causes Shin to fall down, allowing him to dodge the knife.
Sakamoto then grabs table cloth to make into a whip to defeat the enemy.
Ando’s friend spots Sakamoto. He is the pianist, the Piano Assassin “Shouber Montaro”
By pressing one key, the lights go off but the assassins put on night vision goggles to fight Shin and Sakamoto.
Shouber is surprised by how Sakamoto could dodge with just sound.
With gunshots nearly grazing him in the darkness, Sakamoto grabs Shin and, while carrying him on his back, asks him to read the thoughts of the crew.
Although panicking at first, Shin senses one attacker on Sakamoto’s right, allowing him to grab the man’s arm and twist it.
Shin guides him to the left, to Sakamoto’s front to take down the assassins.
Shouber is surprised that Sakamoto was able to figure out where his attackers were so he turns the lights back on but Sakamoto throws Shouber into his own piano and smashes him with its lid.
Together, Shin and Sakamoto play the piano to attack Shouber inside it.
The crowd of regular people were impressed by the otherwise unpolished performance of the duo, having no idea what is going on.
Sakamoto Days Chapter 199 will be released on February 3, 2025.
