Samura the PHOENIX OPENS HIS EYES! Kagurabachi Chapter 76 Spoilers!
With the healing fire of the Vermillion Bird, Samura is about to unleash his FULL POWER!

In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Hiruhiko uses Kumeyuri to get one ahead of Samura and escape, only to battle with Chihiro again.
Kagurabachi Chapter 76 is titled, “Banquet”.
This chapter has 19 pages.
Editor’s note: “Volume 7 releasing May 2nd (Friday!) That’s real close!”
The title is from Kumeyuri’s first known technique that was shown last chapter.
Banquet intoxicates targets and traps them in an illusion.
The chapter begins with Kunishige talking about an Enchanted Blade’s true realm, the way by which the limitations of an Enchanted Blade are transformed based on their user.
We focus on Chihiro and Hiruhiko’s confrontation in the hallway.
Hiruhiko notes that Chihiro used Nishiki to cover his ears as a way to counter Banquet.
Hiruhiko tells Chihiro that he intends to kill Samura first to make and wonders what Yura will do.
Toto says it does not matter what Hiruhiko does as she will die here anyway so he has to retrieve Tobimune for the Hishaku.
As Toto hides, Hiruhiko activates Kumeyuri’s second ability, Playground (Yuu)
The Enchanted Blades, aside from the Shinuchi, all have three abilities to them.
Kumeyuri’s “Banquet” creates hallucinations from intoxications, which in turn affects their sense of balance like a drunk person would.
“Playground”, however, allows the wielder to freely manipulate nearby objects around them.
This includes the dead bodies of the gang members that he used to jump on Iori.
Chihiro is offended by Hiruhiko’s lack of respect for the dead, using the corpses as objects.
It also seems that Banquet got stronger as Chihiro loses his balance again, even with Nishiki on his ears.
Hiruhiko meanwhile wonders how many times he actually lost to Chihiro and why he keeps underestimating him.
Chihiro sees that Hiruhiko is able to conjure powerful moves whose effects reach all the way to the rooftop, where Samura and Iori are, and thus the young man’s goal is clearly to wrap everything up here and now.
As Kumeyuri’s two geisha spirits surround the entire hotel, Hiruhiko declares his complete devotion to killing Samura.
While protecting Ikura, Moku and Rou wonder where Kuguri went.
Suddenly, the elevator doors open up, spitting out dozens of corpses
The narration explains how it is Samura’s complete devotion to killing the Sword Saint that has made him so focused in fighting yet now Hiruhiko takes advantage of Samura’s regained memories and throw the dead bodies, with their weapons in hand, to his daughter, also noting how Yura continually manipulated Samura to do as he said.
As he is fighting the dead, Samura sees the memories and fears he had once sealed away just as Iori experienced them little by little in the previous chapters.
This includes the fear that Iori, who suffered from her father’s reputation, would commit suicide, as shown in Chapter 73: “Daybreak”.
It is this fear that allows Samura to be affected by Kumeyuri’s Banquet and be dragged into that memory.
Samura reminds himself that he is inside an illusion but then from behind the door that he faces, he hears Iori’s screams.
When the door opens, out came a barrage of corpses going after Iori, leading to Samura blocking them with his own body and seriously wounded.
Yet the narration says that this lethal blow “sobered up” Samura, foreshadowing what will happen next.
In the distorted hallway, Hiruhiko faces Chihiro and declares that he is the only one who is completely free, with Chihiro asking Hiruhiko why he is going this far to spite Samura.
In their midst, Samura’s Crow feathers drop down, with Hiruhiko noticing it.
Iori is left alone on the rooftop, with all the corpses down, meaning “Playground” has been deactivated.
From outside, Kuguri is confused by all the events suddenly happening.
Iori was surprised to see Samura’s wounds heal, before the man disappeared and reappeared in the hallway where Chihiro and Hiruhiko were.
Declaring that Hiruhiko will not be able to do anything now, Samura activates Suzaku the Vermillion Bird, his third ability.
In an amazing final page, we see Samura’s face obscured in darkness as it seems like Samura is opening his eyes and Suzaku’s flames are healing him.
While Suzaku is not technically a phoenix and the Eastern phoenix has no association with healing, the Vermillion Bird Suzaku does have healing properties.
Editor’s note: “Vermillion Bird! The third ability of the Tobimune and the effect it causes –?”
Kagurabachi Chapter 77 will be released on April 20, 2025 and Kagurabachi will have the lead cover page for next week.
