Sojo’s Free Day! Kagurabachi’s Bonus Chapter Spoilers

The previous Kagurabachi chapter ended with Chihiro witnessing Uruha’s death at the hands of Samura, who sided with Hishaku to end the “evil” of the Enchanted Blades.

However, today, the main story will be on break as we get a bonus chapter.

Kagurabachi BONUS Chapter is titled “Sojo’s Free Day”

This chapter has 11 pages.

We begin with a statement from Genichi Sojo.

Except it is not about acquiring an Enchanted Blade or experimenting on children.

…It’s about his hygiene.

Sojo was the main antagonist of Kagurabachi’s very first arc, the “Vs. Sojo” arc, which ended with his death at Chihiro’s hands in Chapter 18: “Roar” released on January 29, 2024, over 11 months ago.

Sojo intends to look for a bath before he carries out his mission.

Near the Tokyo Tosouya Line: the Kurushio Station, just five minutes away from the station, Sojo heads for an old, tucked away in a residential neighborhood, the Kurushio Bath House. 

In spite of its small size, there is a sauna and it is managed by a 78 year old woman named “Tae”

Sojo asks for a towel set from Tae.

After which, Sojo enters his bath and thinks about a new place, a massive resort with both a bath and a sauna that was recently built somewhere around the corner from here but Sojo would not be able to enter due to his tattoos.

Sojo stares at the roof-window and enjoys the view, planning to leave the bath once it is dark outside.

We learn that this chapter actually takes place before the start of the Kagurabachi story, before Chihiro and Sojo meet.

That is because today, Sojo’s job is to pick up Cloud Gorger and Sojo is particularly excited because he is a fan of Rokuhira Kunishige and it has been his dream to use an Enchanted Blade.

However, since this is an important task for the Hishaku, Sojo intends to wash away all his excitement and to relax himself, which he plans to do within this bath.

To fine tune his body for the job, he enjoys his time in the bath.

That is until he sees the sign near the bath, which says “undergoing repairs”.

The hot water effect did not kick in.

As he enters the showers, Sojo grabs a bottle of shampoo, which reads “Cold shampoo, like a cold breeze”

But as Sojo washes his hair, a pair of yakuza stands behind him.

The men tell Sojo that the weapons he gave them were of a low quality and that their boss demands a 40% refund. 

This makes Sojo upset and he murders the men offscreen, filling the bath with their blood.

As he walks away, Sojo asks Tae for any fruit milk but Sojo could only get coffee milk instead.

Sojo also notes that the cold-breeze shampoo he got was fit for the summer and this is October.

He also brings up the sauna not working, which the owner apologizes for.

Sojo berates the woman, telling her that these mistakes will never make the bath house compete with the new gigantic resort.

Sojo says that he will forgive the bath owner for these mistakes, which means he was intent on killing this poor old woman if it was any other day.

Although things did not go as planned, he somehow feels fine.

Sojou drinks the coffee milk and places the bottle and lid in a recycling bin before walking out excitedly to claim his Cloud Gorger.
